Plum picking in Slovenia

We'd booked a week in Slovenia, staying in a quiet little village about 40 minutes' walk from Bled town. We'd explored Lake Bled, the Vintgar Gorge, and the nearby villages, and we were planning to head to Lake Bohinj...when the skies opened and it started raining, torrentially.
Luckily, there was something to entertain us in the backyard of our Air BnB stay...a huge plum tree with hundreds of ripe, purple plums. We had permission from our host to pick as many as we wanted, so we did! With our heaping handfuls of plums we returned to the shelter of our Air BnB and then realised...we now had to do something with four heaping handfuls of plums.
So we made a plum crumble, also known as a 'plumble' using only a stove top (our place didn't have an oven). We boiled plums with sugar on the stove and cooked up a crumble in a frying pan.
We served the plums with the crumble sprinkled on top.
And that's how we survived the rain in Slovenia and ate way too many plums.
